Jeremy Bruns was born in Muleshoe, Texas. In 1994, he
completed his B.Mus in organ performance at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where he
studied organ with Judson Maynard and piano with Steven Glaser. He studied with David
Higgs at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, earning his M.Mus. in
performance and literature in 1996 and the Performerís Certificate in 1998.
Mr Brunís has won several competitions, including the
1995 Texhoma Chapter ABO competition, the 195 Rodland Scholarship Competition for
Excellence in Church Music, the 1993 MTNA National Collegiate Artists Competition and the
1992 William C. Hall Memorial Organ Competition. He won second prize at the 1993
International J.S. Bach Organ Competition. He was preliminary finalist at the 1997 Dallas
International Organ Competition and was an award winner of the 1996 Oundle International
Summer School for Young Organists.
Mr. Bruns has performed throughout the U.S., including
recitals in Texas, New York, Louisiana, Michigan and at the Washington National Cathedral
in Washington D.C. He has performed in recital at St. Paulís Cathedral and
Westminster Abbey in London, St Maryís Church in Luton and Canterbury Cathedral.
Jeremy Bruns lives in Buffalo, New York and is the
assistant organist/choirmaster at St. Paulís Episcopal Cathedral, where he assists
with the training of the Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys and the Cathedral Girlís
Choir, administers a weekly series, and holds primary responsibility for service-playing.
