Robert Huw Morgan

Robert Huw Morgan was born in Newport, Wales. He received
his B.A. (1988) and M.A. (1992) from Cambridge University where he was an Organ Scholar at
St. John’s College. In 1989 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists. He
is currently a D.M.A. student at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he studies
organ with Carole Terry and orchestral conducting with Peter Erös. Mr Morgan has also
studied repertoire with Nicolas Kynaston and improvisation with Nigel Allcoat. He has
participated in master classes with Marie-Bernadette Duforcet, Naji Hakim, Peter Hurford,
Piet Kee, Ewald Kooiman and Nicolas Kynaston.
Mr. Morgan has served as assistant conductor, music
director and coach for several University of Washington productions. As both a soloist and
accompanist he has performed in the U.S.A. , Australia, Europe and Scandinavia. He has
also recorded performances for BBC television and radio.
Mr. Morgan has been chorus accompanist and orchestral
keyboardist for the Cambridge University Music Society was organist and choirmaster at
Oakham School, Rutland, assistant director of music and school organist and choirmaster at
Oundle School, Northamptonshire, and staff accompanist at the University of Washington
School of Music.
Robert Huw lives in Seattle and is assistant conductor of
the University of Washington Symphony Orchestra and Opera.
