Mordy Ferber

Brooklyn-based guitarist Mordy Ferber has won the accolades of his collaborators and listeners.

The thirty-nine year old Israeli-born guitarist was a child singer who learned guitar to accompany himself. He studied classical music, got into rock then eventually settled on jazz, taking an interest in Django Reinhardt, Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall and John Scofield.

Ferber became a studio musician when he was fifteen, appearing on Israeli radio and television shows, performing in a wide variety of styles. When he was 23, he won a scholarship to the Berklee College Of Music. Since relocating to New York in the late 80s, Mordy has performed and recorded with Michael Brecker, Eddie Gomez, Dave Liebman, among many others. He's led his own groups, and served repeatedly as a sure fingered sideman in any number of eclectic musical encounters.
