Jazz Radio Programs
 Tuesday  Thursday  Saturday

Global Music Network brings you a series of excitingly varied Jazz programmes, presented by GMN's resident Jazz Guru and hipster extraordinaire, Bret Primack, who strongly advises listeners to "keep your fingers poppin' and your toes tappin'!"

 New Jazz Releases

Your chance to hear tracks from the latest CDs by artists such as Chick Corea with his new trio, Larry Goldings, Johnny Griffin and Steve Grossman.

 The Jazz Titans

A handful of great musicians have shaped the face of Jazz and their contributions have become musical images guaranteed to survive the ages. Here, we explore the music of the masters, including John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong.

 Tenor Madness

The tenor saxophone has long been one of the dominant instruments in Jazz, perhaps because of its aural similarity to the human voice. Accordingly, there have been a host of colorful creators whose tenor saxophone sounds are indelible and here, we listen to such legends on Gene Ammons, Don Byas and Ben Webster.

 New Faces in Jazz

Jazz keeps changing thanks to a continuing supply of young musicians who bring their diverse influences, and rabid enthusiasm to the music they so admire. This program celebrates the latest batch of these young lions, some of whom will most definitely go down in the Jazz history books.

 Latin Jazz Extravaganza

Latin Jazz is a combination of Jazz improvising and infectious Latin rhythms. This emphasis on percussion and rhythm makes it one of the most exhilarating branches of the Jazz tree and on this program, we capture the spirit of the music--a true fusion between North, South and Central America.

 Bird Lives

One of a handful of musicians who can be said to have permanently changed jazz, Charlie "Bird" Parker was arguably the greatest saxophonist of all time. Here we dig some Bird, and listen to music that he wrote, as played by his disciplines, and the musicians he inspired, including Sonny Stitt and Jackie McLean.

 Ellington and Strayhorn tribute

Two of the biggest composers in Jazz are paid tribute to by a collection of musicians performing their inspirational tunes.

 Women in Jazz

Your chance to hear a programme dedicated to female jazz artists with performances from the IAJE Conferences, the Mary Lou Williams Women in Jazz Festival and New York's Birdland.

 Icons on the Ivories

Jazz icons on the Ivories is a collection of performances by some of the influential pianists on the Jazz scene today.
